  “Ohhh'' she moans and spreads her legs even wider and I slowly slide myself all the way inside of her.

  I know I should be wearing a condom, but I need to feel all of her. “You feel so good baby” I hiss as I slowly pull out, then I push myself back in. I wrap my arms around her with my face in her neck. I need to breathe her in.

  She’s still asleep when I wake up the next morning. We don’t have any plans today so I kiss her then get out of bed. It’s only seven in the morning, but I have things that I need to get done. I take a shower in the guest bathroom and get dressed there. I check on her and she’s snoring which means that she’s probably going to be sleeping for a while yet. I make sure to make a fresh pot of coffee and write her note before I leave the house.

  My first stop is Pixie’s. “Well, someone looks extremely cheesy and happy this morning.” What can I say? I can’t stop myself from smiling.

  “Shut the hell up Lei.” She chuckles.

  “Love looks good on you Eli” she says.

  I pulled her in for a hug. “She’s the one Lei.”

  She pushes me off of her. “Oh my god! Are you saying what I think you’re saying?” she asks.

  “I’m going to ask her to marry me.” I say and Lei starts jumping up and down like a crazy person.

  “When are you going to ask her?” she asks.

  “That’s why I came here. I need you to send out a text to the girls, tell them to meet us at the office.”

  She looks at me. “Yours and Reese’s office, or mine?” Cute.

  “At the jobsite.” I say and she rolls her eyes.

  “And I’ll get a hold of the guys. It has to be Sina perfect” I say. Great, now she’s crying. “Why are you crying Lei?”

  She hugs me and says, “Because I don’t have to worry about you being alone anymore. Because your heart chose Sina; because you deserve to be happy.”

  I kiss the top of her head. “Thank you for taking care of me Lei, even when I was being an ungrateful asshole, you never stopped loving me.” And it’s the truth. Lei has always been good to me, she never made me feel like I was alone. She always kept me involved with whatever that was going on. She’s the little sister that I was lucky enough to have in my life, even though we didn’t share the same DNA, she was my sister and I loved her. “I love you Leila.”

  She’s sobs, “I love you too big brother.”

  “Do you think I can get some of those magical cupcakes to go?” I say with a wink.

  She snorts. “I already have them packed,” she says. She hands me a dozen cupcakes. “What time should I tell the girls to be there?” she asks.

  “Around noon. I’m heading out to Mama’s now, then I’ll see you at the office.” I say and her phone is already in her hands as she sends out the message.

  “Wait!” Lei runs to the door and hands me a bag. “That’s for Mama,” she says.

  Before I leave Pixie’s I send out a text to the guys:

  Me: Meeting at jobsite at noon. Marino I included you ‘cause your family to Sina, and I guess my friend…. I guess. DON’T BE LATE ASSHOLES!!

  Luka: Say please!

  Daniel: Alright! Thanks uce. Mona’s on her period and she’s fucking scaring me.

  Reese: I’m already here slacker!

  Michael: I better not be getting my ass kicked, I’ll be there.

  Marino: You got lucky fucker, but I’m still going to dream about her ;) Keep me posted!

  I read their messages and shake my head. Fucking assholes! I make sure the cupcakes are secure and set off to Mama’s.

  It’s still early and traffic isn’t bad so I make it to Mama’s faster than I usually do. I turn the car off then grab my phone so I can send Sina a text, but she beats me to it:

  Babe: I woke up to a cold bed ☹ But thank you for making me coffee, I love you babe! Hurry up and come home. I freaking miss you.

  I’m fucked. She’s got me feeling like I’m in high school all over again. If the guys found out that I even sent her a heart, they’d never let me live it down. I grab Mama’s sweets and head for the door.

  Mama opens the door before I even have a chance to knock.

  “There’s my handsome son,” she says and I give her a kiss on her cheek.

  “Good morning Mama” I say as I walk inside. I follow her to the kitchen and I’m surprised to see Mama Rita sitting at the table with a coffee in her hands.

  “Morning Mama Rita.” I say and she smiles, getting up to give me a hug.

  “Morning sweetie!” She says as she wraps me in her arms.

  “Lei wanted me to give this to you,” I say to Mama handing her the bag.

  Mama takes it and says “We were just getting ready to head over to Pixie’s, but you saved us a trip Son.”

  “I didn’t see your car outside.” I say to Miss Rita.

  “I had Luka drop me off, I needed to get out for a little bit and he was taking Emma out to breakfast, so I hopped in with them.”

  I smile. Well shit, two birds with one stone, today is going to be a good fucking day.

  “So, should we ask why you’re here this early?” Mama asks and Mama Rita giggles.

  They fucking know, dammit! I look at Mama Rita. “I was going to stop by today, but I’m glad you’re here.” I clear my throat. “I know I’m the last person that deserves your daughter. But I’m crazy about her and I’m in love with her. I’m pretty sure some people might think that she deserves better than me, but I know that I’m good enough for her. I wanted to ask for your blessing to have her as my wife.” They both start sobbing and I stand in the kitchen like a loser waiting for her to say something.

  What the hell is with women and crying. “You are more than enough for our daughter. You already had our blessings before you knew you were going to ask for her hand. I’d say welcome to the family, but you’re already part of our aiga,” she says. Her words mean so much to me and I have so much love for this family. She hugs me. “Congratulations Eli,” Mama Rita says.

  “Thank you!” She hands me off to Mama.

  “Congratulations son! You make sure you take good care of her heart” Mama says.

  “I promise I will Mama. Thank you for keeping me in my place Mama, I love you!”

  “You’re my son, I will alwa
ys be there for you no matter what” she says. “Wait here.” She leaves the kitchen and comes back with a little box. “I forgot to bring this to you when you were in the hospital, but here’s the ring that your grandmother left for you.”

  She opens it and my jaw drops. I’ve only seen it once but I was much younger. “Holy shit!” I say.

  “Language!” Mama chides.

  “I meant, Grandpa had good taste.” And they both chuckle.

  “He sure did,” Mama says. I take the jewelry box from her, this ring would’ve cost me my whole savings plus more. It’s gorgeous and it’s perfect for Sina.

  “It’s her size too” Mama Rita says. I looked at both women and raise a brow.

  “I hope she likes it.” They laugh like school girls together and it’s a sight to see.

  “Trust me. She’s my daughter, she’s going to either freak out or pass out.” Miss Rita says.

  “When are you planning on asking her?” Mama asks.

  “I planned on asking her tomorrow night. I know we’ve only known each other for a short time, but she’s it for me. I don’t want to wait. I’m meeting with everyone at the jobsite to make plans. I need you both to take her out while we set things up tomorrow, and I’ll text you when everything’s ready.” I say.

  “Where should we bring her?” Mama says with excitement in her eyes.

  I smile. “My backyard.” I say goodbye to both the mother’s and I set off on my way to meet up with everyone. I’m going to ask her to stay. I am ready to spend the rest of my life with her.

  Chapter Seventy

  Sina

  I woke up and he wasn’t there, but the memories from last night made me blush. He made love to me, and it was something so new to me. It was nothing I have ever felt before. He didn’t rush me instead he took his time loving me not only physically, but emotionally. Eli made me feel beautiful inside and out. I believed with my heart that he loved me because I felt his tears on my chest next to my heart. I should be freaking out that he didn’t wear a condom, but I didn’t care because I needed to feel all of him. I didn’t want anything between us. He made love to me a few more times and each time that he did, every single cut, every single scar that I have carried with me for years didn’t matter anymore. His every touch replaced all the bad memories that I held on to. And every single time he whispered “I love you”, the missing pieces of me were being replaced with the pieces of him. Sigh. I love him. Eli’s my safe place, my home. I wasn’t sure if he was home, so I got out of bed and threw his shirt on. I also needed him to tell me to stay. The house was empty, so I went to the kitchen and saw that he left me a note:

  Sigh. I kiss his note and stick it on the refrigerator and pour myself a cup of coffee. I grab my phone and decide to go sit out in the backyard. It’s pretty cold, but I don’t care because I’m in love, plus I freaking love his backyard. I snag one of the covers that’s on one of the chairs and cover my legs with it. I turn my phone on and send him a text:

  Me: I woke up to a cold bed ☹ But thank you for making me coffee, I love you!

  Hurry up and come home. I freaking miss you.

  He’s perfect. I’ve been cheated on, beat, and sexually abused and through it all something inside of me still held on, and kept me going. Life has been crazy, but if anything I have learned that there will be people who’ll try and do anything to break you and cut you from the world. But we’re given a choice to either fight our way out, or allow the ugliness to keep you from existing. Everything happens for a reason they say, but I am just grateful that God, my family, friends and Eli never gave up on me. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. My life was beautiful. I’m not sure how long I sit outside for but my phone starts buzzing with a text.

  Mama: Family meeting this evening at six. Don’t ask me why, just be here please.

  Me: We’ll be there when Eli gets back.

  I’m not sure what it's about so I don’t know how I’m supposed to be feeling right now. I just hope that it isn’t anything bad, because I have reached my limit of bad news. I drink the rest of my coffee and head back inside to get ready for this family meeting.

  Chapter Seventy-One

  Eli

  Everyone was on board with my plan and I was ready to get the ball rolling. I wasn’t too worried about Luka, Daniel, and Reese because they knew I was going to ask their sister to marry me, they did threaten to beat my ass if I hurt her again. Megan and Mona were giving me shit about it then gave me their blessings. Becca was happy for me, Michael took it a little harder and I wasn’t surprised. I was glad that Emma was there, I needed to know how she felt about it before I started assigning everyone their duties.

  “Emma, how would you feel if I asked your mother to marry me?” I ask her when I get to the office.

  Her eyes go so big that I’m afraid that they’re going to pop out of her head. “I would be so happy. I don’t want to go back to New York because I don’t want to leave you or anyone else” she says. Yeah, this little girl owns me just as much as her mama does.

  “So, is that a yes?” I ask.

  She jumps and I catch her. “Yes, yes, yes. You can marry her.” She squeals.

  I hug her, then kiss the top of her head. I set her back down and give her a little bag. “I got you something.” I say as I hand it to her. Everyone watches as she pulls out a jewelry box.

  “I love it Eli,” she says. She removes the ring out of the box then looks at me. “Can I put it on my necklace?” She asks while pointing at the necklace with Baby Eli’s prints on. “That way you can be close to my heart too.”

  My heart explodes and I feel my eyes sting. Shit. There are no dry eyes, she pretty much made the guys cry too. She is definitely Sina’s daughter. I help her put it on and say, “I love you Emma.”

  She smiles and says, “I love you too.”

  Then she gave Michael a hug. “I love you too Daddy.” Yeah, she had not only me, but her dad wrapped around her little finger. She is definitely going to break hearts when she gets older.

  I get home around two and Sina is already dressed. “Hi Baby.” I call out.

  She smiles and I grab her sweater and pull her closer, then I kiss the shit out of her. “Hey you” she says breathlessly and I kiss her again.

  “Are you going somewhere?” I ask.

  “We’ve been summoned,” she says ominously.

  “By who?” I question.

  She kisses me on the mouth and says, “Mama. There’s a family meeting at my parent’s place this evening, so we have to be there at six.”

  Interesting. “You want to go get something to eat before we head over there?”I say.

  She nods her head. “Yes please. I am starving!”

  “Why didn’t you call me? I would’ve picked something up.” This girl, she’ll be the death of me. I swear it.

  She collects her purse and phone and says, “Because I was hoping we could go to a buffet together?”

  “My baby wants to eat at a buffet, she gets a buffet.” I laugh. I fucking love her.

  She rolls her eyes. “Oh shut up!” She walks out with a little swing in her step and I make sure to smack her pretty little ass just because she’s sexy as fuck.

  “Ow!” she squeals as I lock the door and turn to rub her ass cheek.

  “That’s what happens when you wear leggings with a good ass.” I wink.

  “Perv!” She says with a fake scowl.

  “I’m your perv.” I say and grin and waggle my brows at her like a c
reep.

  She looks over her shoulder as she walks away from me and snarks, “You wish you were.” Then she tries running. I hook my arm around her and pushed her up against the car.

  “What was that?” I whispered in her ear. I make sure she can feel how hard she makes me. She moans and I bite down on her ear. “I can’t hear you baby” I taunt.

  “I love you,” she says.

  I suck on her neck. “I love you too” I say and take a step back to open her door for her. Before she gets in, I give her another smack on her ass.

  “Asshole!” She laughs.

  “I’m your asshole.” I snigger and we both get in the truck. I reach over to buckle her in then I hold her face and kiss her. I let her face go and see she’s wearing my smile. I’m a goner. We have lunch, and then we visit her brother and our son. We stop to pick up some more flowers then we drive to the graveyard. We spend the rest of our day there until it’s time to leave for the family meeting.

  By the time we pull up to her parent’s house everyone is already there. We get out of the car.

  “Do you know what the meeting’s about?” I ask her and she shakes her head no. She looks like she’s going to have a panic attack. “Look at me. You’re okay. If it gets too much then you let me know then we’ll grab Emma, and we’ll go home.” I tell her. A tear rolls down her face and I kiss it away. “Do you trust me?” I ask.

  “Yes.” She whispers and I kiss her again.

  “Then trust me to take care of you.” She smiles and I lace my fingers through hers as we walk toward the house.

  Chapter Seventy-Two

  Sina

  I was a nervous wreck after Mama sent me that text. But Eli was my calm, he kept me grounded. I wasn’t sure what was going on, but I was okay because I had him by my side. Did I mention how much I was in love with him? Because I am. Completely, head over heels in love with him. I held on to his hand and his smile was enough to keep me from being worried. We went through the back gate, instead of the front door.
